My top 10 podcasts for a prosperous 2017

Ahh podcast, you are like a little bestie in my pocket – always available with some great advice or a kick up the bum…

Podcasts have become my go-to solution for inspiration and motivation over the past 12 months. They haven’t all been about money, some are about slowing down, living with less or just living well.

So, if you’re looking for a way to kick start your year or bring a different perspective to life, give a couple of these a try* and let me know what you think.

Profit Boss Radio

This one is hosted by friendly American financial planner and coach, Hilary Hendershott, and it’s all about giving women tips for financial success in a “no-nonsense style”.  I actually really enjoy her approach. She knows her stuff, gets some interesting guests, and she ain’t afraid to tell it like it is.

Hay House Radio Podcast

Ok, so this one is a little ‘woo woo’… but if you’re into things to do with spirituality, health, wellness and manifesting – this is the place to go. I’m not in the mood for this level of ‘woo’ all the time, but it’s great when you want to get a bit metaphysical…

TED Radio Hour

If you are just testing the podcasting waters, this is a great place to start. The TED Radio Hour is based on talks given by speakers on the world-renowned TED stage and each show is centred on a common theme like happiness, love or the meaning of work.

Meditation Minis with Chel Hamilton

Need to get centred, let go of mistakes, or just get to sleep? These mini meditations for anxiety and stress are awesome! Hosted by American hypnotherapist, Chel Hamilton, they are all 15 minutes or less (most are about 10 minutes) and have a slightly different purpose. Chel has an amazing voice for this stuff – a beautiful calm resonance that really can put you into a hypnotic trance. So don’t drive while listening to this!

Happier with Gretchen Rubin

Happiness hacks and habits are what this podcast is all about. Hosted by author Gretchen Rubin (The Happiness Project) and her sister Elizabeth Craft, this is a great one to get some ideas and inspiration for how to live a productive and fulfilling, and therefore happier, life.

So Money with Farnoosh Torabi

Finance journo Farnoosh Torabi is a money strategy powerhouse and this podcast is intense. She interviews everyone from Tony Robbins to Arianna Huffington about their money wins and losses, and she’s notched up more than 520 episodes!

Here she is on iTunes.

The Slow Home Podcast

Ok, so we’ve covered the Americans, let’s get to the Aussies…

The Slow Home Podcast is great when you want to feel like you could live in a cabin in the Blue Mountains, growing all your own produce and spending your days fermenting and crafting. Seriously, I love it!

It’s hosted by Brooke McAlary (founder of and her hubby Ben, who have opted to get off the hamster wheel and live a slower life.  They have a lovely relaxed style as they chat to others who have adopted simple living, slowing down, opting out, and saying no (and fermenting stuff).

Here it is on iTunes.

Small Steps Living: The Podcast

The host of Small Steps Living, Lisa Corduff, is like a breath of fresh minty air whenever I feel like I have too much to do. She seems to have boundless energy despite having three kids under six and running a very successful, multifaceted business from home.

Lisa (who created Small Steps to Wholefoods) is all about food, but her podcast also covers mindset, work and motherhood. Her aim is to help women take small steps to improve their lives without guilt and overwhelm.

Rock Your Goals with Sarah Jensen

I only recently discovered this podcast but it’s my new favourite right now, particularly because I am working on my own business. I really enjoy Sarah’s relaxed and warm presenting style, and she chats with a whole lot of inspiring Aussie entrepreneurs, bloggers and business owners who share their “tips and truths” about how to grow a business and live authentically.

Live Immediately with Mike Campbell

According to Mike, “we often get in our own way by creating stories in our mind that aren’t true. We think we can’t do something before we have even tried”. This pod is an interesting take on living life to the fullest. It’s not always about scaling mountains, but simply living your most authentic life, right now, without giving into the fears that often hold us back.
